Mental disorders in history.

So after talking to Paddy about my ideas yesterday I’ve slightly changed my direction. From looking at schizophrenia I decided to go slightly more broad with my options and look into mental illness through history. How it has changed, how the treatments have changed, or just what treatments they used to do on patients. What did they think was wrong with them?

cultural references
looking at it in the history
looking at old treatments

first diagnosis, before what was it classed as, how was it treated
victorian times
witches?
treated like witches?

applying the truth of could they have had it and what happened to them, comparing them to now, and what we know now

one that flew over the cuckoos nest
