Paul Davis was not an illustrator I normally would have looked at. Creating controversial work, and even losing clients over it is both inspiring and something to take heed from. Although I aspire to be a designer that opens people’s eyes and gets people talking I don’t want to put people off my work.
My favourite of his pieces was the man that he drew that was sat in the station (pictured above). I like this piece because it was just done in the moment, and although he didn’t know the man, he added a story to it. On the spot design without much thought like this really works and can often be most powerful.
